One of the hottest starlets in Hollywood right now, Margot Robbie is riding off the back of her Suicide Squad praise, and has just signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. allowing her to develop and produce and feature films through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner (along with colleagues Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr).

Robbie’s production company is currently in postproduction for the upcoming neo noir thriller Terminal (LuckyChap’s first movie), developing and producing the Tonya Harding biopic I, Tonya, and also adapting the novel Bad Monkeys for Universal, and Warner Bros.; who’ve already worked with Robbie on Focus, The Legend Of Tarzan, saw her play an instrumental role in securing Suicide Squad‘s $700m worldwide Box Office take, and are keen to continue their relationship.

The new deal underlines Warner’s renewed focus on female-driven storytelling; the studio is not only releasing Wonder Woman next year, but working on a female Ocean’s 11 (titled Ocean’s Ocho), and aims to increase female voice within the industry through it’s newly formed Emerging Film Directors Workshop; and highlights their faith in Margot; who already has two projects underway with the studio.

As well as executive producing an adaptation of Dean N. Jensen’s Queen of the Air, Margot Robbie is also working on a Suicide Squad spinoff for her character Harley Quinn, which will also feature a number of notable DC Comics’ heroines.
