Due to be directed by Allen Hughes (From Hell) the upcoming drama Broken City; which is due to star Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter), Russell Crowe (Gladiator), and Catherine Zeta Jones (The Mask of Zorro); has been written by newcomer Brian Tucker, and has just had its distribution rights secured by New Regency.
New Regency’s deal with 20th Century Fox will see them releasing the film; which places Wahlberg as a detective who, upon investigating the mayor’s wife to see if she’s having an affair, discovers the politician (Crowe) is involved in a self-serving real-estate scandal; and is currently lacking a release date, but is expected to be released sometime in 2014.
