Mickey Rourke Takes Seven Psychopaths, Not Expendables 2

Despite having one of the only emotional scenes in The Expendables, being a huge fan favourite, and easily having the option to return for the sequel as Tool (the colourful character who set The Expendables up with their missions), Mickey Rourke has apparently passed on The Expendables 2, and has entered talks to appear in Seven Psychopaths.

Starring Colin Farrell (In Bruges) as a screenwriter who ends up dognapping a prize Shih Tzu, from a psychopathic gangster, with two of his friends; who will be played by Sam Rockwell (Iron Man 2) and Christopher Walken (Pulp Fiction); Seven Psychopaths is the next film from In Bruges’ director Martin McDonagh, and will aim to place Rourke in an undisclosed role (though likely that of the gangster; since the other major parts seem to be taken), when it begins shooting this fall.
