Minority Report TV Show Planned

Tom Cruise Minority ReportIt’s been 12 years since the release of the Tom Cruise sci-fi/action movie Minority Report, a Philip K. Dick inspired movie which saw a future where psychic predictions were used to prevent crimes before they happened, and now the world of Minority Report is set to expand, as director Steven Spielberg is producing a Minority Report TV show.

While plot details are thin on the ground at the moment, there’s certainly a lot of series potential given the premise of the film; arresting murderers before they even commit their crimes, based on an advanced computer system filtering the visions of the pre-cognitives; and it’ll be up to the recently hired Godzilla writer Max Borenstein to finalise the script details.

As of yet there’s no word on when a pilot will shoot, or air, though there are plenty of other TV shows leaving the starting blocks at the minute; with recent cast announcements for Show Me A Hero (the upcoming HBO series from the creator of The Wire), and word that NBC have just commissioned a pilot based on the intense supernatural/legal thriller The Devil’s Advocate (which originally starred Keanu Reeves, Charlize Theron, and Al Pacino, in the 1997 movie).
