The fifth movie in the franchise, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation was only released yesterday, but rather than waiting for Box Office results or audience reactions before moving forward producer/star Tom Cruise has said he already has plans for the sixth instalment.

Speaking on The Daily Show, Cruise told Jon Stewart “we’re starting to work on it now”, and that Mission: Impossible six (whatever it eventually ends up being called) will “probably start shooting next summer.”

Obviously there’s no word on stars, plot, or director so far, and Paramount hasn’t officially confirmed a sixth movie is on the cards (though it is all but inevitable), but it’s an interesting prospect nonetheless; mainly wondering how Tom will attempt to top his Rogue Nation stunt work for the next film.
