New Blade Runner Scores Original Writer

Following a similar developmental path to that of Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s latest project has everyone guessing; is it a remake? is it a reboot? is it a sequel? a prequel? or just linked to the same universe as the 1982 cult classic?; but what is known is that Hampton Fancher will script the new Blade Runner movie.

It’s a move that will undeniably please fans of the original (given that Fancher scripted the original film), who might be a bit apprehensive about accepting a sequel (it’s looking like the new movie will end up being a direct sequel, though without starring Harrison Ford), and a sequel which according to Scott will “definitely be featuring a female protagonist.”
