New Conan the Barbarian Picture

The marketing machine for Conan the Barbarian is beginning to warm-up; as we’ve recently had releases of a new motion poster, a teaser trailer, and now a new image (which debuted over at MTV, and can now be seen below) for the Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 2003) directed action/fantasy epic.

Heavily featuring Jason Momoa (Stargate Atlantis) as the titular barbarian Conan, the new image doesn’t exactly give much away (similar to previous images and the trailer; which have all remained fairly mute), but certainly sets Momoa up as a true force to be reckoned with, and looks simultaneously gruff, dark, and gung-ho.

The new movie will bring the classic Robert E. Howard character to life in 3D for the first time, will also star Stephen Lang (Avatar), Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy), Rachel Nichols (Star Trek), and Rose McGowan (Charmed), when it’s released in both the US and UK on August the 19th.
