Nightmare On Elm Street Freddy Krueger exerpt

The last time we saw Freddy Krueger on the big screen was in Samuel Bayer’s 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street remake, and it looks like New Line Cinema is wanting to reboot the franchise all over again.

Jackie Earle Haley was the Freddy Krueger we got in 2010, and he played a darker, nastier version of the character. Fans and critics alike were disappointed with the remake, and it looks like New Line are wanting to sweep that one under the rug and vindicate themselves with a fresh take on the horror icon.

David Leslie Johnson, the writer of the recently announced Dungeons and Dragons adaptation, will pen the script. Johnson has experience in the horror genre, writing 2009’s Orphan and currently developing the sequel to 2013 hit The Conjuring.
