Based on author Donald Westlake’s novel Flashfire, and focussing on his best loved character; an outlaw by the name of Parker who seemingly lives without a code of ethics; the upcoming action/thriller Parker has just had another high-profile actor added to its cast-list, and an official release date confirmed.
Joining the cast which we already know will place Jason Statham (The Mechanic) as the titular outlaw, The Shield’s Michael Chiklis as Parker’s enemy this time out, and Jennifer Lopez (the Money Train star who’s also got a fairly successful singing career) as his love interest; a real estate agent who’s not adverse to a spot of larceny; will be Nick Nolte (48 Hrs.); who’s due to appear as some form of mentor figure for Parker.
Taylor Hackford (Ray) is directing the thriller which has been adapted by John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan), will also star Clifton Collins Jr. (Star Trek) and Wendell Pierce (The Wire), is due to begin shooting this month in New Orleans, and now has a release date scheduled for October 12th 2012.
