New Titles for Thor 2 and Captain America 2

While up until now we’d simply been referring to the next Thor film, and the next Captain America movie, as Thor 2 and Captain America 2 respectively, Marvel have just announced that both movies will not be numbered installments, but each come with their own tantalizing subtitles.

Thor 2 has now been renamed Thor: The Dark World (suggesting that things will be taking a moodier turn that the largely comic romp of the first movie), while Captain America 2 is now being referred to as Captain America: The Winter Soldier (possibly referring to a recent comic-book arc in which his supposedly dead friend Bucky; played by Sebastian Stan; returns as a brainwashed Russian assassin known as The Winter Soldier).

While little is actually known about what shape the two films will take at this point; other than the fact that Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans will be returning as Thor and Captain America respectively, and directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) and the team of Anthony and Joe Russo (Community) respectively; but inevitably we’ll hear, and see, much more before Thor: The Dark World is released on November 8th 2013 in both the US and UK, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released on April 4th 2014.
