Nick Fury Movie Ahead

Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) has been locked into a nine picture deal with Marvel Studios for some time now, and in all nine picture he is due to play the role of Nick Fury; a role that we have so far seen him portraying in both Iron Man movies, and will be appearing in next year’s Captain America film, as well as The Avengers movie (which is due out in 2012); and in a recent interview he confirmed that there will be “a big S.H.I.E.L.D. movie” in which he will be the star.

S.H.I.E.L.D. ; The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics, Division (the acronym actually stands for something different in the original comics); is basically a huge superhero club, run by super-spy Nick Fury, that employes both super, and non-super, agents, to conduct espionage missions, and generally fight off evil wherever they find it.

There has been no confirmed plot, or cast list, as of yet (the 45 year comic-book history or the organization means that it could be just about anything, and include just about anyone of the organizations 3,000 agents), but it’s fairly likely that Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow  (Scarlett Johansson) from Iron Man 2 will appear, and all but certain that Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson (also from the Iron Man series of films) will pop up in some capacity.

In fact, most of the information about the film is still speculative, as some websites list a planned Nick Fury movie (which is most likely the same feature, as it doesn’t have an official name as yet), but what is certain; apart from the fact that Nick Fury won’t, as previously reported, be appearing in the upcoming Thor movie, and that Sam says shooting on the S.H.I.E.L.D. film will take place “sometime after” The Avengers wraps; is that he’s going to be popping up in quite a few comic-book adaptations; still having a minimum of seven films to release in order to fulfill his nine picture deal with Marvel.
