Nicolas Cage and John Cusack Join The Frozen Ground

Marking the feature directing debut of writer/director Scott Walker, the upcoming movie The Frozen Ground will be based around Robert Hansen; the most notorious serial predator to grace the town of Anchorage, Alaska; and has two fairly high profile actors poised to jump aboard production.

John Cusack (Hot-Tub Time-Machine) is set to play the serial predator Robert Hansen; a respected family man who abducted over 24 women, during a 12 year period, and hunted them in the Alaskan wilderness; while Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider) is set to take on the role of the dedicated State Trooper who found Hansen’s only surviving victim, and works with her to bring Hansen to justice.

Set to film on location in Anchorage this coming fall, The Frozen Ground doesn’t have a confirmed release date as yet, but remains intriguing not only because of the against-type-casting of both Cusack and Cage, but due to the nature of the material, and can be expected to open sometime next year.
