Paddington 2 starts filming

After universal praise from audiences and critics alike, the world has been eagerly awaiting news of a sequel to the fantastic family film Paddington; news which has just dropped, as Studio Canal have announced Paddington 2 has already started filming.

After being teamed together in The Pirates! Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson have both joined Paddington 2; as a thespian named Phoenix Buchanan and safecracker ‘Knuckles’ McGinty respectively; with Gleeson’s character proving to be an unlikely ally for the titular bear, who’s trying to track down a pop-up book stolen from Mr. Gruber’s (a returning Jim Broadbent) shop as a gift for his Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday.

Director Paul King, and producer David Heyman have expressed their excitement to be working with Grant and Gleeson in an official statement, and say together they “hope we can make a film worthy of this most exceptional of bears.”

Paddington fans will get to see for themselves when Paddington 2 is released in the UK on 10 November 2017.
