Prometheus New Image

There have been countless rumours, debates, and speculation about what form Ridley Scott’s upcoming sci-fi movie Prometheus would take ever since it was originally announced (is it a prequel to his Alien movie? is it a stand-alone film? or is it an Alien spin-off?), but as the release date is drawing closer, we’ve now got a new image from the film to look at, and speculate further (available to view below, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly).

While no-one is saying that Prometheus is definitely an Alien prequel, star Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class) has said “there’s definitely a link to Alien” and that “there are creatures in it you’ll recognise”; something further images in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly confirm (as they will look especially familiar to any fan of Scott’s 1979 classic).

Prometheus stars Charlize Theron (Monster), Idris Elba (The Wire), Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo), Guy Pearce (Memento), Ben Foster (The Mechanic) and Michael Fassbender (as an android), and is due to be released on June 1st in the UK, before making its US release date on June 8th 2012.

More images and information about Prometheus can be found in the current issue of Entertainment Weekly.
