Provocative Sin City: A Dame To Kill For Poster Banned in US

Sin City A Dame To Kill For PosterWe’ve already seen a slew of images, and an official trailer for the upcoming Sin City: A Dame To Kill For (the upcoming sequel to the 2005 movie, once again co-directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez), yet the film is now gaining a good deal of controversy in the US, as the release of it’s latest poster has been officially banned by the Motion Picture Association of America for being too provocative.

Seen below, the poster pictures stars Eva Green (Dark Shadows) holding a pistol, wearing red lipstick, and a very thin, see-through, gown (allowing onlookers to clearly glimpse her figure underneath), and the caption “I’VE BEEN ESPECIALLY BAD”; all leading the MPAA to deem the poster far too provocative for American audiences and officially censor it “for nudity – curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown.”

Befitting of a little controversy, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is likely to take the same uber-violent stance as the first movie, in its continuing adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic novels of the same name (with the upcoming film due to be based on A Dame To Kill For and Just Another Saturday Night).

Filmed natively in 3D, A Dame To Kill For is due to star returning actors Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jamie King, and Powers Boothe, alongside series newcomers Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Looper), Stacy Keach (American History X), Clive Owen (Trust), Josh Brolin (MIB3), and Ray Liotta (Goodfellas) when it’s released on August 22nd in the US, before making its official UK release date on August 29th.
