Coming from Lawless director John Hillcoat, and scripted by Matt Cook (the relative newcomer behind the Swim documentary), the upcoming crime thriller Triple 9 looks to be an extremely hard-hitting, gritty, and violent watch; as you can now see with the release of the official Red Band trailer below.
Telling the tale of a group of dirty cops who find themselves blackmailed into committing a near-impossible heist for the Russian mob, and plan on completing their task by allowing the death of a fellow rookie officer, Triple 9 has an unbelievably strong cast of A-list talent attached.
Casey Affleck (Gone Baby Gone) stars as the rookie, and will be joined by Woody Harrelson (Rampart), Kate Winslet (Titanic), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave), Anthony Mackie (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), Aaron Paul (Need For Speed), Gal Gadot (Furious 7), and Clifton Collins Jr. (Pacific Rim), when Triple 9 is released in the US on February 19th. Sadly, there’s no official UK release date as yet.
