Roald Dahl’s BFG Gets Movie Treatment

While the made-for-TV film has been around since 1989, it now appears that one of Road Dahl’s best loved stories; The BFG (Big Friendly Giant); will once again be getting the movie treatment, courtesy of Dreamworks; who will this time be making a live-action version of the tale, and sending it to the big screen.

Melissa Mathison (E.T.) will be writing the film that at this stage is lacking both a director and stars, and is yet to have an official release date announced; although as Roald Dahl movies have proved to be pretty popular in the past (see The Witches, James and the Giant Peach, and Fantastic Mr. Fox), it should only be a matter of time before the ball gets properly rolling, and some official announcements are made.
