We still can’t really say we’ve seen any proper footage of the new Robocop, but the recently released viral video promoting the movie (which is now available to view below) does show us that Omnicorp is back in a big way, Ed-209 will be making a appearance, and perfectly teases the upcoming remake; which now has an official release date.
Directed by Jose Padhila (Elite Squad), and starring Joel Kinnaman (Safe House) in the titular role of deceased cop Alex Murphy who’s brought back from the dead as a cyborg police officer, alongside Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight), and both Abbie Cornish (Limitless) and Hugh Laurie (House), Robocop will be released on August 9th 2013 in both the US and UK.
