Royal Wedding to be Released on iTunes

While the majority of the world will be watching on in awe, anyone who misses the upcoming Royal Wedding; between the future King of England Prince William, and Kate Middleton; will be able to relive the ceremony, as it’s alreaddy scheduled for digital release on iTunes, only a matter of hours after the ceremony takes place in the iconic Westminster Abbey.

While millions tuned in to watch the wedding of Will’s parents (Princes Charles and Diana) way back in 1981, William and Kate’s wedding is expected to easily trump that; and become the most watched television event in history; when the adoring young couple exchange their vows next month.

A soundtrack album of the royal nuptials is being recorded by Decca Records, and is being released to online retailers the same day as the historic vows are being exchanged; making it the fastest ever album release handled by Universal Music, and a daunting task for Decca Records.

Producer Anna Barry has said recording the ceremony is both “a great honour, and an enormous responsibility” as they need to not only “capture every note and every nuance perfectly” but also “have the recording ready within minutes of the end of the ceremony”; even quicker than the label had to ready their recording of Charles and Diana’s wedding 30 years ago.

Decca will not only be releasing the soundtrack album (which will contain the entire service, and the vows) digitally, but also via more traditional hard copies; coming by way of cds, vinyls, and even old fashioned cassette tapes; with the album including a booklet with the order of service, the reading, the vows themselves, the hymns, blessings, and the music, when it’s released the week after the wedding, and is predicted by many to top the album charts (and raise millions for charitable causes).

Binding the future King of England to his fiancee; the extremely well liked commoner (who will eventually become the Queen of Great Britain) Kate Middleton; the Royal Wedding takes place on April 29th, will be aired in the U.K. and worldwide on numerous networks (possibly in 3D), before the soundtrack album is released on iTunes the same day, and the hard copies are released on May 5th.
