Ryan Reynolds Locks Deadpool Deal

It’s been talked about for a while, and following the strong reaction to the release of the early test footage the studio knew there was a clear demand for a stand-alone Deadpool movie. 20th Century Fox actually announced an official Deadpool film had been commissioned some time back, and while it was all but assumed Ryan Reynolds would be picking up the role again there had been no confirmation until now; as Ryan Reynolds has now officially signed on to the Deadpool movie.

Well, actually he’s finalising a deal, but it’s a done deal; as seen by a recent, none-too-cryptic, Tweet sent by Reynolds (available to view on the right); and so we’ll soon seen Ryan reprising the role he first embodied in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (though hopefully the character will be handled a lot better this time) for a Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland) scripted film which will see the wise-cracking, fourth-wall breaking, Marvel character directed by VFX guru Tim Miller, in a Fox and Marvel Studios collaboration which is set for a 2016 release.
