Schwarzenegger and Willis Confirmed for Expendables 2

We recently had the news that both Jean-Claude van Damme (Timecop) and Chuck Norris (Delta Force) would be joining the ranks of The Expendables 2, but we now also have confirmation that both action legends Arnold Schwarzenegger (Commando) and Bruce Willis (Die Hard) will have “substantial roles” in the upcoming sequel.

Schwarzenegger and Willis both made brief cameos in the first film (which marked the first time the trio; including Rambo star Sylvester Stallone; had ever been seen on screen together), and while it’s unclear exactly how “substantial” their roles will be in the new movie, there’s been a lot of unconfirmed talk about Willis playing the new film’s main bad guy, and the possibility of Arnie’s team of mercenaries going head-to-head with Sly’s Expendables.

David Agosto (Big Canyon) and Ken Kaufman (Space Cowboys) have written the script for The Expendables 2, with the help of former writer/director/star Sly Stallone; who’s handed the directing duties over to The Mechanic’s Simon West for the new movie, but will still be returning alongside Jason Statham (The Mechanic), Mickey Rourke (Sin City), Dolph Lundgren (Universal Soldier), and, provided the rumours about him leaving are untrue, Jet Li (Unleashed), when The Expendables 2 starts shooting this October.
