Marking the directorial debut of Saturday Night Live regular Taran Killam (who’s also writing, and starring), the upcoming action/comedy Why We’re Killing Gunther has just found its biggest star in Terminator: Genisys star Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Co-starring Cobie Smulders (Killam’s wife, How I Met Your Mother star, and Marvel’s Maria Hill) and Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley), alongside a number of other comedy names, Why We’re Killing Gunther will follow a group of international assassins who, irked at his arrogance, decide to kill the world’s greatest hitman – something which proves to be no easy task.

Why We’re Killing Gunther is set to start shooting this June (while Killam is on hiatus from Saturday Night Live), and although there’s no release so far we can likely expect an announcement in the coming weeks; as the film is aiming to be sold to studios at the Cannes Film Festival this month.
