You know that ‘Norman Reedus is a bastard’ film you consciously didn’t know you wanted? Well Robert Kirkman – the creator of The Walking Dead media empire & Skybound Entertainment founder – has produced one and it looks rather spiffy.

Air sees Reedus (The Walking Dead TV show) as one of two custodial maintenance workers in an underground cryogenic facility, after a nuclear fallout leaves the surface uninhabitable. As the rest of humanity sleeps waiting for the right time to awaken to rebuild society, the pillars of Reedus and Djimon Hounsou’s (Guardians Of The Galaxy) sanity crashes down as the pair fall out as they have to make tough decisions to keep the facility – and humanity’s future – going.

As well as Reedus & Hounsou starring and Kirkman producing, Air has some more creative muscle in David Alpert (the executive producer of both The Walking DeadFear The Walking Dead), Bailey Conway & Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (producers on Insidious Chapter 2 & 3 and Sinister). Writer and director Christian Cantamessa has made his name in the video game world with titles like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor & Red Dead Redemption but looks to get his full length debut on a good footing with a gorgeously bleak and intense thriller.

Air hits USA screens August 14th 2015. Hopefully won’t be too long after that for the UK release as I can’t wait for this.
