News textAfter the huge successes of Secret Cinema Presents Stars Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Secret Cinema Presents Back To The Future (read our review of the BTTF event here), not to mention their more secretive events, Secret Cinema are returning next month with their first ever horror event; Secret Cinema Presents 28 Days Later.

That’s right, the 2002 Danny Boyle classic; which saw Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins) awake from a coma to find London (and potentially the world) had been ravaged by a disease which effectively turned anyone infected into super-quick, rage-fuelled, zombies; will be getting the Secret Cinema treatment, and recreated on a huge scale in a secret London location.

The 28 Days Later show, which has received support from the film’s director Danny Boyle, producer Andrew MacDonald, and screenwriter Alex Garland, will also serve as the platform for a nationwide Secret Cinema launch; with the secret London show also joined by another (as yet unannounced) city.

Secret Cinema Founder and Creative Director Fabien Riggall said ““Secret Cinema is excited to step into the world of horror with Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later, a true British horror classic – we look forward to creating a suitably frightening and exhilarating experience. Secret Cinema’s expansion over the last nine years has been remarkable, we’ve now created experiences in New York and Berlin, as well as the many in London. But this will be a turning point for us as we embark upon our very first UK nationwide production.”
