See Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher

Fearing that nobody would go and see it (or at least hoping to draw in the last few Lee Child fans who didn’t realise their favourite fictional, literary, tough-guy was due to feature in a new movie) Paramount recently changed the title of the upcoming Tom Cruise action movie from One Shot, to Jack Reacher, and have now released the first image of Cruise as the titular hero (now available to view below).

Jack Reacher is the wandering hero of a number of Lee Child’s novels (including the 2005 tale One Shot; upon which the new film is based), and is due to be played by the Mission: Impossible star (Tom Cruise) in the movie which has been adapted, and is due to be directed, by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), will co-star Rosamund Pike (Surrogates), Robert Duvall (The Godfather), and Richard Jenkins (Let Me In), and is due to be released on December 21st in the US, before making its UK release date on December 28th.

More on Jack Reacher, from star Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie, can be found in the latest issue of Empire Magazine (where the image first debuted).
