Shane Black To Direct New Predator Movie

0

Shane BlackDespite refusing to pen the screenplay for the original 1986 Predator numerous times, and instead becoming involved with the movie that began the entire franchise by playing the part of Sgt. Hawkins, Shane Black will soon return to the Predator world, in order to both direct the latest action/sci-fi/horror outing for the infamous, dreadlock-sporting-killer.

Having recently co-written and directed Iron Man 3, Black is perhaps best known for his work with classic action movies such as Lethal Weapon, and so seems a logical choice to bring Predator back to the Box Office.

At this point it’s still unclear what form the new movie will take (set on an alien world, in the jungle, or city streets), who will star in it, or anything other than Black’s involvement, and after developing the story treatment he will pass the writing duties over to Fred Dekker (who worked with Black on Monster Squad), though opinion remains hotly divided at this point as to whether we need another Predator reboot, or indeed if Black is the man to helm it.
