As its release date begins to near, the buzz surrounding Guy Ritchie’s (Snatch) upcoming Sherlock Holmes sequel; Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows; is continuing to grow, and even though the newly released trailer (which can be seen below) contains a good deal of recycled footage, it should please the film’s more action loving fans; as it’s nothing if not explodey.
A Game of Shadows will once again see Holmes (Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man) pairing with Watson (Jude Law, Enemy At The Gates) in order to solve a mystery; which judging from Holmes’ decorating is much larger in scale than that of the first film; and attempting to take down the criminal mastermind that is Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris, Mad Men), and save the entirety of Western civilization from collapsing.
Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), Stephen Fry (Bones), Rachel McAdams (The Time Traveller’s Wife), and Eddie Marsan (V for Vendetta) will also co-star in the movie which looks to take the action, comedy, mystery, and spectacle, to a whole new level when it’s released on December 16th in both the US and UK.
