After the release of the highly impressive Sicario (reviewed here), we were greeted with the news the crime/thriller would be getting a sequel. Said sequel now has both a name and a director, as Stefano Sollima (known for directing Suburra, and working on the highly praised TV crime drama Gomarra) is now signed on to directed Soldado.

With moral quandaries, intrigue, mystery, and possible corruption involving both Mexican cartels, the FBI, and the CIA populating the first film, it’ll be interesting to see where Soldado goes, when the script from returning writer Talor Sheridan starts filming, and the focus rests mainly with the characters portrayed by Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro (as Emily Blunt is not returning).
