Side Effects for Rooney Mara

News recently broke that Catherine Zeta-Jones (The Mask of Zorro) has joined the upcoming pharmaceutical-based psycho-thriller from Steven Soderbergh (Contagion), Side Effects, and now the film has added another name to its cast list; Rooney Mara.

Mara, recently seen in Sony’s remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, will be replacing Blake Lively (The Town) in a role which will place her as an adulterous, pill-popping, woman that’s taking pills to cope with the anxiety of her husband’s impending release from prison, and sleeping with her doctor on the side.

According to rumour there were worries about Lively’s Box Office potential, and so Rooney will now be joining Zeta-Jones, Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes), and Channing Tatum (Haywire), in the Scott Z Burns (Contagion) written movie which is currently looking for a little extra financial backing, ahead of an unannounced start date.
