Skyfall Sees Q Return in Latest Bond Film

Rumours began to circle a while ago that Rhys Ifans (Mr Nice) would be popping up in the next James Bond movie (which we now know will be titled Skyfall) to play classic comedy-outlet and MI6 inventor Q, and while those rumours were quashed sometime ago, it appears as though Q will be returning to the franchise in Bond 23, but played by Ben Whishaw.

Whishaw (Perfume) will be starring alongside Daniel Craig (who’s returning to play Bond for the third time), baddie Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Judi Dench (once again returning to play MI6’s head honcho, M), Naomie Harris (the 28 Days Later star who’s playing a field agent named Eve), and new Bond girl and french actress, Berence Marlohe, in the film which is not a continuation of the Quantum storyline, but “its own story.”

Skyfall is currently filming at Pinewood Studios, and director Sam Mendes (American Beauty) insists that it will provide everything fans expect from a Bond movie (including “lots of action”), when it’s eventually released on October 26th 2012 in the UK, and on November 9th 2012 in the US.
