Spielberg Announces Jurassic Park IV

Speaking at this year’s Comic-Con (which is currently in full swing in San Diego), writer/director Steven Spielberg (who was there promoting his upcoming Tintin movie) confirmed that yet another sequel was moving ahead to one of his most beloved films, and one of the best regarded film franchises in history; Jurassic Park.

We’ve recently had the announcement, and trailer for the upcoming Blu-ray release of the original trilogy (which is due this coming October), but now Steven has confirmed that not only do “we have a story”, but that they “have a writer who is writing the treatment”, and will start filming “hopefully in the next two or three years.”

Though it wasn’t confirmed by Steven Spielberg, recent reports have Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend) as the soon-to-be hired writer for the new film; which would be the fourth in the Jurassic Park series, released in 2013 if Universal get their wish, and likely involve a fair bit of running away from some pretty aggressive dinosaurs.
