Stallone Vs. De Niro in Grudge Match

Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro are both accustomed to on screen boxing (see the entire Rocky franchise, and Raging Bull for evidence), and could soon be stepping back into the squared circle and facing off against one another in the upcoming sports comedy Grudge Match.

After being suggested back in October 2010, there’s been very little movement on the project until now; as the two stars recently entered official talks to star in the movie which has had its script re-worked by Entourage’s Doug Ellin, and will find two past-their-prime boxers, and lifelong rivals, tempted back into their former profession in order to settle the score with one last fight.

As of yet there’s no word on an official release date, start date, or even a director, but it’s clear that Warner Bros. are looking to push this one forward, and, providing scheduling allows, should be able to get the pair in front of the camera sometime next year.
