While it’s been a dream project of his for quite sometime the production was never fully finalized, but now Darren Aronofsky has finally secured all the backing he needs to go ahead with his re-telling of the classic biblical tale Noah; thanks to a new partnership between Paramount and New Regency.

Noah; the tale of the man who received a message from God telling him to build a huge boat (an Ark) and fill it with two of every animal, in order to avoid a coming biblical apocalypse; will be Aronofsky’s directorial follow-up to Black Swan, and is currently having its script re-written by Gladiator’s John Logan.

In a recent statement Aronofsky stated that “since I was a kid, I have been moved and inspired by the story of Noah and his family’s journey” and will undoubtedly be pleased that the movie is now being fast-tracked, with the hope of beginning production as early as next spring.
