Coming from director Rod Lurie (Nothing But The Truth), the upcoming remake of the classic 1971 horror movie Straw Dogs, has just had it’s first official poster released online; which, along with the film’s trailer, is now available to view below.
Starring James Marsden (Death at a Funeral) as a fairly ‘wet’ man who moves with his wife (Kate Bosworth, 21) to her old hometown, only to have a number of marital tensions boil to the surface, face trouble with the locals, and eventually have a gang of macho local men; led by his wife’s tough-guy ex-boyfriend (True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard); lay siege to his home.
The new poster sticks extremely closely to the one-sheet from the original movie (viewable here), and bodes well for the film as a whole; as while the location may have moved, the tensions, and spirit of the original seem to have remained very much intact for the new film; which co-stars James Woods (Casino), Dominic Purcell (Prison Break), Walton Goggins (Justified), and Willa Holland (Legion), and is due to be released in the US on September 16th, before making its UK release date on October 28th.
