After learning Gomorrah director Stefano Sollima will be directing Sicario‘s sequel Soldado, we now have an official trailer for Suburra; his upcoming Italian crime thriller.

A film which is clearly gaining a lot of praise and attention for its scope, style, and execution, Suburra is a Rome-based mob movie which sees a planned property deal (essentially planning to transform the Eternal City into Las Vegas) cause clashes between various mafia types, the police, and The Vatican itself (at the heart of the city’s corruption).

Lead actor Pierfrancesco Favino will be hosting a Q&A screening of the film in London on June 14th, before the UK theatrical release of Suburra on June 24th.

Netflix are also planning a small screen adaptation of the film – turning Suburra into a ten-part series due to hit the streaming service next year.
