The Guv’nor trailer for Lenny McLean documentary

Best known to film-fans as Barry The Baptist from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Lenny McLean was also an infamous bareknuckle boxer, unlicensed boxing champion, bouncer, enforcer, and East End doorman, and will soon be the subject of the upcoming documentary The Guv’nor; the trailer for which can be found below.

Coming from the producers of Gascoigne, and directed by Paul Van Carter, The Guv’nor will follow Lenny’s Son Jamie as he explores his father’s story; from troubled upbringing (including an abusive stepfather) to local fame, and eventual stardom; as the working class man from Hoxton journeyed from unlicensed fighter to best-selling author, and film star.

You’ll be able to explore the life of Lenny McLean, see an emerging picture of a complex, driven, and principled family man, and see interviews with a number of colourful East London legends, as well as Hollywood names (like Guy Ritchie and Jason Flemyng), when The Guv’nor is released in select cinemas on October 7, before making it’s official DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Download release on October 10.
