Adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s novel of the same name, and coming from director Andrew Niccol (In Time), The Host only recently entered production, but has already had its first teaser trailer released online (now available to view below).
Set in a future where humanity no longer rules the Earth (as pesky aliens have invaded the minds of almost every living person and wiped their original personality away), The Host is set in a world without war, hunger, or suffering, and follows a young girl (played by The Way Back’s Saoirse Ronan) who’s stronger than her alien anticipated (failing to fall victim to his parasitic mind-wipe), and joins forces with a human resistance movement.
Co-starring William Hurt (A History of Violence), Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds), Jake Abel (who worked with Saoirse on The Lovely Bones), and Max Irons (Red Riding Hood), The Host is due to be released on March 29th in both the US and UK.
