The Newsroom Trailer

Coming from the man who gave the world The West Wing, who scripted The Social Network, and Moneyball (Aaron Sorkin), The Newsroom is an upcoming HBO drama set behind the scenes of a prolific cable news show, and judging from its recently released trailer (now available to view below), looks to have not only brilliant writing but a fantastic lead performance.

Starring Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber) as a seemingly middle-of-the-road new anchor (as different as Ron Burgundy as you could imagine) who explodes into a rant at a college talk and provides his own take on both America and the world, The Newsroom co-stars Emily Mortimer (Shutter Island), Sam Waterson (Law & Order), Alison Pill (Scott Pilgrim), and more, and premieres on HBO in the US on June 24th (and presumably sometime shortly after on Sky Atlantic in the UK).
