Balancing out the awards-calibre Oscar-bait with it’s Midnight Madness strand of genre fare, this year’s Toronto International Film Festival boasts the premiere of Headshot; the upcoming action film starring The Raid‘s Iko Uwais.
Iko will be going full Jason Bourne in the film, which sees his character waking up from an injury and suffering from memory loss, wondering why people are trying to kill him, before piecing together bits of his past, and realising he’s not only a trained killer, but warring with a number of disgruntled drug henchmen; something which puts his new relationship, with the woman who nursed him back to health, in jeopardy.
While there’s neither a UK nor US release date for the Kimbo Stamboel and Timo Tjahjanto directed film yet, UK action fans will be able to catch Headshot at the Mayhem Film Festival in Nottingham; running between October 13 and 16.
