Starring john Cusack (High Fidelity) as the famous literary figure Edgar Allan Poe, the upcoming murder mystery/thriller The Raven (which takes its title from one of Poe’s best known tales) has just had its first trailer released online (which can now be viewed below).
Directed by James McTeigue (V For Vendetta), The Raven sees a serial killer challenging Poe to solve a series of murders which are clearly based on his stories; leading the police (and specifically a detective played by Robin Hood’s Luke Evans) to both work with Poe to solve the murders, and simultaneously suspect him of the crimes.
Co-starring Brendan Gleeson (The Guard), Alice Eve (She’s Out of My League), Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean), and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Faster), The Raven is due to be released on March 9th 2012 in the US, and will presumably land a UK release date shortly after.
