Having been produced by British horror institution Hammer Films, the upcoming horror film The Resident will not only terrifying viewers, but highlight an important home security issue that many homeowners and tenants never even consider; as it showcases just how vulnerable you can be.
Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby) leads the cast as a successful young woman who moves into a new apartment, ready to live alone, but slowly begins to realize that she may not be alone; as not only does somebody else have a key to her apartment, but they are creeping in and silently watching her while she sleeps.
Also starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Losers) and Sir Christopher Lee (The Lord of the Rings star who first made his name in the original Hammer Films of the 1950s), The Resident is due to be released in the U.K. tomorrow (March 11th), before going on to meet its U.S. release date on March 29th.
Distributor Icon Films are also offering a unique service as part of The Resident’s marketing in the U.K; by teaming up with Timpson Locksmiths, to offer a 10% discount on the installation of any door and window locks (to customers quoting “The Resident”); designed to prevent any incidents like those in The Resident occurring; as Adam Jackson (co-founder of the U.K. Locksmiths Association) says “it’s surprising how many people never even consider changing the locks when moving into a new home, despite also admitting to still having a key to an old residence of their own.”
