Timecop Getting Reboot Treatment?

Timecop PosterWith almost every movie being produced by Hollywood now being either a sequel, prequel, or re-imagining of some sort, it should come as no surprise that Universal are now discussing the possibility of rebooting the sci-fi/action classic Timecop.

Released back in 1994, and starring action legend Jean-Claude Van Damme (The Expendables 2 villain who owes much of his stardom to this movie) as a cop policing the space/time continuum and stopping a corrupt senator from using time travel for his own political ends, Timecop not only had a direct-to-DVD sequel, but a short-lived TV spin-off, and could soon be updated for a new generation (something which would definitely need to happen; as the ‘futuristic’ 2004 setting probably wouldn’t hold water anymore).
