Edge of Tomorrow was one of the best films of 2014. Tom Cruise proved he’s an unrivalled blockbuster star, and the movie showed that Hollywood isn’t out of interesting ideas quite yet. Now Variety are reporting that Cruise and director Doug Liman are set to reunite for upcoming sci-fi Luna Park.

The two already have Mena in the works, a thriller where Cruise plays a drug smuggler that will see a 2017 release. Liman has been wanting to make Luna Park for several years, but financial issues have prevented him from doing so. Now it seems that the film has finally been given the go-ahead. Cruise’s involvement in the project hasn’t been officially confirmed, but reports say that his participation is certain should he see a script that satisfies him.

Not much is known about the movie yet, but the story “revolves around a group of renegade employees who take a trip to the moon to steal an energy source.”  It is unknown when the film will begin production, as Cruise is a very busy man. Shooting of Jack Reacher 2 is about to begin, and the next Mission: Impossible film is also expected to start shooting next year.
