Tom Cruise Joins Magnificent Seven Remake

It’s already gone down the remake road once, but MGM Studios are once again planning to remake the classic 1960 western The Magnificent Seven (originally a western version of the Japanese film Seven Samurai), and now have acting legend Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible) attached to star.

Still lacking a director (and even a script) at this stage, there’s no word on exactly which of the seven Cruise is lined up to play, or even if the movie will follow the original’s plot; finding a group of American gunmen protecting a Mexican village from a group of ferocious bandits; when it eventually gets going.
