Top Gun 2 Gets New Writer

Maverick Top GunHow many times have we boarded the Top Gun 2 flight? It’s one of those on-again-off-again projects that just keeps resurfacing every now and then, but lost the majority of its moment following the tragic death of director Tony Scott. Now however there appears to be movement, as Paramount are currently negotiating with Justin Marks, with a plan to have Marks write the Top Gun 2 script.

Tom Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer are apparently both keen to return for a Top Gun sequel (though details of what shape it may take remain largely sketchy and rumoured-filled at present), and although there’s no director attached as yet hiring a scriptwriter like Marks (the man behind Jon Favreau’s upcoming Jungle Book movie) mean there’s at least a chance we’ll get to see Maverick on the big screen again.
