Top Gun 2 Unlikely

It’s one of those on-again-off-again projects which dies away then fires up the rumour mill evry couple of years, but it now looks as though any Top Gun sequel has fallen apart; largely due to the death of director Tony Scott.

Scott was apparently working closely with original star Tom Cruise to both work out the script details and find the film’s locations, but as the sequel was a real passion project for Scott, it’s hardly surprising that the passing of the director/producer has derailed Top Gun 2; at least for now.

Still, that doesn’t mean we’ll never get the chance to be “playin’ with the boys” on the big screen again, as Maverick, Goose, and the rest of the original gang will soon be seen onscreen again; as a Tony Scott approved 3D conversion of the original movie could touchdown in US cinemas as early as next year.
