What begins as a seemingly average case of one suicidal man threatening to jump off a building, turns out to be something much more, in The Ledge, the upcoming thriller from writer/director Matthew Chapman (Runaway Jury), which is just about to receive its official release in the US.

Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam stars as the supposedly suicidal man who we later learn isn’t simply standing The Ledge out of a desire to jump, but because he’s been forced to, and has only an hour to make a true life or death decision that could end not only his life, the life of someone he cares deeply about.

The Ledge’s life or death game begins after Gavin (Hunnam) engages in a passionate affair with a beautiful woman (Liv Tyler, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), and her evangelical husband (Patrick Wilson, Insidious) decides to not take the traditional path of divorce, but go down a much more serious and deadly route; planning to ensure that one of them will pay with their life.

Terrance Howard (Iron Man) co-stars as Hollis; the cop originally given the task of talking Gavin down, but who ends up spearheading the effort to stop the potential murder, in this race-against-time thriller which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and was available on Video On Demand services back in May, yet will recieve only a limited theatrical run int he US (beginning tomorrow, July 8th), and as of yet doesn’t have a UK release scheduled.
