Trumbo Trailer

While the Black List today tends to refer to a stack of some of Hollywood’s greatest as yet un-produced movies, in the ’40s the blacklist had an entirely different meaning (landing on the blacklist meant studios would refuse to work with you), and you can catch the first glimpse of Dalton Trump’s brush with the blacklist in the official Trumbo trailer below.

Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston stars as Trumbo, in the true story of the Spartacus and Roman Holiday writer who landed on the wrong side of the communist witch hunts which plagued Hollywood for a time, and is joined by a number of hugely impressive supporting stars; including John Goodman (The Gambler), Diane Lane (Man Of Steel), Helen Mirren (Red), and Elle Fanning (Maleficent).

Also co-starring Alan Tudyk (Dodgeball), Louis C.K. (Louie), Adele Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Thor: The Dark World), and Stephen Root (Dodgeball), the Jay Roach (Austin Powers) directed Trumbo has been adapted from Bruce Cook’s book, scripted by John McNamara (the writer behind TV’s Aquarius), and is due to be released on November 6th in the US, but sadly won’t make its official UK release until January 22nd (though it will be screening on October 8th at the London Film Festival).
