While audiences for been whining for years about how all we seem to be offered at the Box Office nowadays is a string of sequels or ‘80s remakes/reboots, Screen Gems has taken the decision to reboot the sci-fi/action/horror/fantasy series Underworld, a mere two years since the release of the last film in the series; Underworld: Awakening (which actually performed better at the Box Office than any of its predecessors).
Once titled Underworld: Next Generation the new movie is due to be penned by Priest writer Cory Goodman, and whilst it’s unclear the direction the film will take (no plot details have been confirmed at this point), it’d be reasonable to assume it’ll involve a number of vampires (likely led by a leather-clad femme-fatale) battling some rather vicious werewolves (known as Lycans).
