Due to be directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave), the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot already has its main star; Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina); and has just cast its main villain; Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight).
Here at Good Film Guide Towers (not an actual tower) we’re huge fans of Goggins’ TV and film work (from The Shield, Justified, and Vice Principles, to Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight and even his extremely brief appearance in Forever Young), so while Variety’s article doesn’t explicitly state who his character is, or what he’ll be doing (not a huge shock given the plot is being kept strictly under wraps – all we know is it involves a young Lara Croft attempting to clear her father’s name), it’s nevertheless an exciting casting.
Filming is expected to being early next year, ahead of a March 16th 2018 release date.
